Where did the year go? / by Mark Brierley

Wait.. Stop.. Where did 2018 go. Must continue this blog monthly.

So much has happened , competitions, work, injuries and just life in general. So just a quick recap, I had my very first exhibition in June, I spoke at a Landscape inspiration weekend I received my accreditation with the AIPP and I began work on my next exhibition titled Is “This Not Art?”

A fantastic year in all and 2019 is shaping up to be just as awesome. I recently took part in Project Street 7:30, where 38 photographers took to the streets of Perth to photograph, edit, print, exhibit and auction the images to raise money for AnglicareWA. You can see all the photographers that took part here and the images here.

Next up I am in the process of prepping my entries for Capture Magazines Top Emerging Photographers and after winning the Architecture category last year, the pressure is on to do it all again.

Finally I am very honoured to be able to say that I will speaking at this years AIPP event Decathlon 2019, 10 speakers , 10 mins each. Having attended past Decathlons I know it’s going to be a fantastic evening. I admit to being a little more nervous than usual since I will be speaking to a lot of industry heavy weights and only have 10 mins to to talk. At the same time I can’t wait for the night..

Now I’m planning on putting a few things together for the blog, like gear talks, editing, what’s in my bag type stuff. So please feel free to comment about anything you would like to see and we can go from there.

Signing off for now

Keep smiling

Mark
